We also call this pie an "Ukrainian Pie" because it was developed in response to the sweet  memory of my Ukrainian childhood. These memories, which became particulalry acute at the times when Ukraine is suffering under the brutal criminal assault by Russian troops, brought back tastes and smells that I remember from my visits to Ukraine as a child. 
One dollar from each sold Ukrainian pie will be donated to support Ukrainian fight against agressors.
